Absolutely loved the homemade plum wine and the stunning views! The room was spotless, but the onsen felt a bit too small during peak times. I'd definitely come back!

The culinary experience was exceptional, highlighting local ingredients.
I found the onsen area quite cramped, particularly during peak hours, which detracted from the relaxation I sought. Additionally, the hiking distance to reach the hotel was more strenuous than anticipated. Providing clearer instructions on how to get there would have made our arrival smoother.

My stay at Kirinosato Takahara was enchanting! Every detail was wonderful, from the stunning views of the valley to the delectable dinner featuring local ingredients like wild asparagus and elegantly cooked fish. The onsen was also a heavenly retreat.
I wish the lunch packed for us had more variety.

Couples Retreat Filled with Surprises
As soon as we arrived, Jian welcomed us with an ice-cold beer and a warm smile. We were really impressed by how generous he was – offered to give us rides, and even played guitar for everyone after dinner! !
It wasn't cheap, but the experience was worth every dime we spent.

Stunning views and exceptional dining experience
Our stay was nothing short of magical! The views from our room were breathtaking, overlooking the misty valley and rolling mountains. Dinner was a highlight, featuring locally sourced ingredients that were both delicious and beautifully presented. The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect retreat after our hike. However, we felt that the onsen area could be improved in size for more comfort.

Perhaps the lack of variety in the dining options could be improved!!! The onsen was somewhat small, so it might get crowded during peak hours!!! A bit more attention to room maintenance would go a long way!!!

The views from my twin room with tatami flooring were breathtaking, providing a serene escape after a long day on the Kumano Kodo trail. Home-made jams at breakfast were a delightful surprise, adding a personal touch to an already impressive meal. However, the onsen area felt a bit small for the number of guests, and I noticed some maintenance could improve the room comfort. While the dining options were limited, the warm hospitality of the host and delicious food more than made up for it.

A Peaceful Mountain Retreat
Staying in a cozy twin room with tatami flooring enhanced my experience. Though I missed breakfast due to an early hike, the views from the balcony were breathtaking. Don’t miss the onsen after a day of exploring. it’s pure bliss! Plan hikes to catch the sunrise.

I stayed in a twin room with tatami flooring, and the views from the balcony were absolutely breathtaking. After a long day on the Kumano Kodo, the cozy setup made for a perfect retreat. The room was clean and comfy, but I did feel the onsen area was a little small, especially when it got busy. Still, the atmosphere was inviting, and the comfy yukatas added a nice touch to the experience!
